Why choose Spokane Civic Theatre's Academy?
What sets us apart from other theatres in the community is the overall quality of the classes and productions we offer, along with the credentials of our amazing faculty .
Top Notch Learning
Our sessions focus on theatre skills, knowledge, theory, and practice, and typically culminate in a live performance for friends and family.
We take students through all phases of the production process: from auditions to rehearsals to performance.
Students walk away from our camps feeling great about not only the final production, but their own inner growth and new skills they learned along the way.
Our Faculty
We believe that certified, qualified, and educated instructors make all the difference in the world. Our instructors are organized, prepared, and have enthusiasm that is bound to rub off on students as we teach them not only theatrical lessons, but life lessons as well.
Our Director of Education, Chris Taylor, holds both BFA and MFA degrees in theatre, and every member of our educational support staff holds a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
While certification and accreditation are very important, they only serve as a subset to our ultimate goal: to provide an educational environment of the highest quality.
At Spokane Civic Theatre, we believe that all children deserve the chance to explore their creative potential. We also realize that for some families, it can be a challenge to provide these opportunities to children.

Since 1953, Center Pointe has improved the lives of those with special needs in the Inland Northwest through social, recreational, & educational programs which foster dignity, respect, and purpose, improving the quality of life for all of us.
We serve as an extended family for those without family or those with family not involved in their lives.
We encourage our participants to be independent, to have a positive self-image, and to be of service to others.
Center Pointe does not receive Federal or state funding. The generosity of United Way donors continues to provide our most stable source of income. We also have fund-raising events to augment our base income.
Volunteers are an essential component of Center Pointe's successful operation. Without these dedicated individuals, the activities and services we provide would not be possible.
